Comments about ImportAdvantage Banyan Creek XL TV Lift Cabinet:
I purchased this cabinet to hide a large flat screen plasma TV when not in use. The infrared technology allows me to also hide all components except the subwoofer, in the substantial, roomy cabinet, and still activate them with the remote control. This is a beautifully finished, very classy piece of furniture that I'm proud to have in my new home. I found no other lift cabinet on the web or in stores that compares to the style and workmanship of this cabinet. On the down side, the cabinet lid closure design could be better. For the lid to close when the TV is lowered into the cabinet, it relies on maintaining a proper angle so that it is leaning on the TV lift mechanism and gravity drops it slowly as the TV disappears below. Mine worked properly for about a month. For no apparent reason, the lid opens completely to a 90 degree angle when TV is lifted, rather than leaning on the mechanism like it should at about a 60 degree angle. The lid hinge likely is sprung and not tight, which would be easy to do if someone, even a child, manually forced the lid toward the wall. Customer service tried to diagnose over the phone, and suggested the floor was not level. It worked for a month, so that isn't the problem. There are no local service people who are familiar with this cabinet to diagnose the problem and suggest a solution. Customer service offered to send a new part to the lift mechanism, but that would involve removing the TV and re-installing, which was costly and difficult and is likely not the solution anyway. I manually lower the lid when the TV disappears below, which kind of defeats the purpose of a remote.
Delivery was fast, and the product arrived in perfect condition. Packaging was excellent. Customer service was available immediately both times I called, but could not successfully diagnose the lid problem over the phone.

This is a beautiful piece of furnature that is very well built (also very heavy). We love it. It hides the TV when we are not using it. One bonus we discovered: you can leave the TV on, and when you close the cabnet, it will automatically turn the TV off, then back on again when you open the cabnet.

Bought this a year ago and we have had no problems. It is a beautiful console when the TV is down. Storage is big enough for multiple componants and video games.
Delivery was prompt and efficient. This is a very heavy piece, so having it moved up my small set of stairs, unpacked, and put into place was a huge plus. All the packing materials were removed.

I bought this a year ago. Have had not one problem, only pleasure. Lovely piece of furniture to hide that large screen. Lift works perfectly.

This is a great TV cabinet. The expensive flat screen LED is out of the way when not in use, and it sure beats wall hangers. The cabinet is very well-built and is an attractive piece of furniture. It has a nice smooth finish and is easy to keep clean. The interchangeable panels are a REAL plus. The down side is that the cabinet is so heavy that it is really difficult to move without putting a lot of muscle into it.
